The attacker, who came in black clothes, lashed out at Salman Rushdie; alive famous writer

 Salman Rushdie was on his way to give an interview on stage when a man wearing a black cloth and mask jumped onto the stage and attacked.The people present there rushed to help them and overpowered the attacker.Rushdie lay on the ground for some five minutes.He was then picked up and airlifted to the hospital.His condition remained critical till late night.

Witnesses said it was hard to believe they didn't have enough security.The attack may have happened within seconds of the program's launch.The people present there are still in shock.A doctor watching Rushdie from the scene told the media that Rushdie had been stabbed 10 to 15 times, including on the right side of the neck.A lot of blood had gathered where Rushdie had fallen.CPR was not being given at that time and he appeared to be alive.His pulse was on.
